Investment company to relocate to Auburn from Skaneateles

Genesee Capital Advisors announced plans to open a new office on Auburn’s South Street. The company had operated on Genesee Street in downtown Skaneateles since 2013. The new location opens Monday, March 28, 2016.

Founding partners of the firm are Mike Hearn, Ryan Pine and JeanMarie Hart, and both Hearn and Pine are Auburn natives.  Hart resides in Syracuse.  The company has four full-time employees.

“Over the past three years we have been very fortunate to serve our clients from our Skaneateles office. After careful consideration, we have determined that the time is right to purchase a new property that will better facilitate our continued growth,” said Hearn, the company President, in a press release.

The new office will be at 46 South St., in the heart of the historic district in that area of the city. The home’s past occupants included William H. Seward Jr., a brigadier general in the Union Army during the Civil War and the youngest son of William H. Seward Sr., Abraham Lincoln’s secretary of state and a former New York governor and U.S. senator.

Pine currently serves as board chair for the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce.  “We grew up here.  Our families owned homes, and businesses on South Street and throughout the neighboring areas.  It will be great to be back and we’re thrilled with our convenient location,” Pine said in the press release.
